Assistant Construction Project Manager

NPC&M is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Construction Project Manager to join our growing team. This full-time, remote role supports the delivery of commercial construction and renovation projects across the New England region as well as the facility services team. The ideal candidate is an emerging construction professional with a strong foundation in general construction, project management, excellent communication skills, and a hands-on understanding of commercial construction operations.
Responsibilities
Assist Project Managers in the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects throughout New England.
Assist Facility Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial facility programs and projects throughout New England.
Support project scheduling, including coordination of subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries.
Review and interpret architectural drawings, structural plans, and engineering specifications to support project execution.
Maintain daily communication and reporting to the Facility / Project Manager’s on project status, issues, and milestones.
Assist in the preparation and management of project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide daily reports and progress updates as required.
Support pre-construction activities including scope review, site assessments, and permitting coordination.
Requirements | Skills
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in general commercial construction or a related project coordination role (Required).
Knowledge of general construction procedures, equipment operation, and current OSHA safety standards (Required).
Ability to read drawings, plans, and engineering specifications (Required).
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment with periodic site visit availability across New England.
Reliable transportation for site visits.
Computer skills: MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe, among others.
Qualified candidates are required to complete a criminal background check and drug testing.
Qualifications | Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (Preferred).
OSHA 30 training certification (Preferred).
Driver’s License (Required).
Compensation
Annual salary: $60,000 – $85,000, commensurate with experience.
Performance-based paid incentive.
